Sometimes life is just hard! It’s full of challenges along the way.  At times, it seems like we’re not equipped with all that’s needed for the obstacles, twists, and turns that are part of the journey.

One author said it like this…

Each time you choose to fight your way through, around, or under an obstacle, you get a little more powerful and a little more resilient (Kayla Cox)

On the life journey, it can be so helpful to have someone to walk alongside for a little while to provide informed support.  Counseling allows for that support.  One of my favorite Proverbs is “iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another”, and that is my philosophy of the counseling process.

I’m a Registered Play Therapist and Autism Specialist by education and training, however I’ve work with all ages on the lifespan, primarily using Adlerian, Cognitive Behavioral, and Solution-Focused Models. I utilize the faith-based concepts of faith, hope, and love, and believe in the power of encouragement.

Whether working with children or adults, I realize that we’re all learning and growing.  Sometimes we’re learning what hurts and sometimes we’re learning what heals, all while on the life journey.  Speaking with a counselor is a great way to identify your own strengths and abilities, and receive encouragement, so you may “get a little more powerful and a little more resilient”!
